Think care-free, think Cairns

What’s not to love about the laid-back vibe of Cairns? This chilled out city is the ideal base to explore our very own Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics World Heritage Rainforest.

Take a trip up the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for some off the scale epic views. Head out onto the reef for diving, snorkelling and submarine exploring. Nearby Port Douglas and Palm Cove or the Hinterland village of Kuranda are cracking day trips. Or go and immerse yourself in indigenous culture with fascinating guided tours.

Back in town, there’s a bunch of new hotels, restaurants, cafes and markets to keep your taste buds busy. And at the end of a long day of exploring, Hemingway's Brewery at the wharf is the perfect spot for a cold tinnie. Cheers!
