Gladstone the island gateway

Here’s where you realise why Aus is the envy of the world. Fly directly into Gladstone, ditch the shoes and hop aboard a boat cruise for an island adventure in the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. Heron Island and Wilson Island are just two of many tropical islands where you can leave your footprints on white sandy beaches and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. Back on the mainland, you’ll be surrounded by beach communities including Tannum Sands, 1770 and Agnes Water. Further south, Rules Beach and Baffle Creek are great for fishing or kayaking.

Once you’re done with island hopping, head inland to Kroombit Tops National Park for sandstone escarpments, gorges, creeks and waterfalls. And back in town, cool off with an ice cold craft beer and a delicious feed at one of the many venues back in town.
