Travel to Port Macquarie
Paradise, otherwise known as Port Macquarie
An absolute holiday fave on the NSW mid-North Coast, Port Macquarie is bang smack in the middle of the Hastings River and the Pacific Ocean, making it a natural paradise for dolphins, whales and koalas. With 17 stunning beaches, as well as the highest koala population on the Aussie east coast (awww), it’s no wonder locals and tourists love it so much.
Boredom doesn’t live in Port Mac. There are dolphin watch cruises, kayak tours, surf schools, strawberry picking - even camel rides on Lighthouse Beach. When it comes to coastal vibes and good times, Port Macquarie has you sorted.
Away from the water’s edge, you can book a guided tour through the famous Koala Hospital and see how they’re treating injured koalas to get them back to the bush. You can also follow the Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail and find 79 painted fiberglass koalas along the way - or see the real deal first hand at Billabong Zoo’s Koala and Wildlife Park.
However you swing it, there’s plenty to love about coming to play at Port Mac.
