Travel to Rockhampton
Rocky's ready when you are
Got your Akubra handy? See just how charming a country town can be when you fly to Rockhampton - or Rocky for short.
While it’s famous for its cattle, there’s plenty more to do in Rocky besides cow-spotting (although you should definitely take a selfie or six with the epic cow statues in town). Throw back some small-batch rum, gin and vodka at the local Salesyard Distillery, with a free tour that shows you how some of their most popular tipples go from grain to glass.
To really earn your thirst, you can make the 11km hike up Mount Archer first. The views are worth every step - although we fully support taking a hire car if the central QLD sun is a bit much for you.
When it’s time to head beyond central Rocky, take a boat from Yeppon to Great Keppel Island or Pumpkin Island. Both have accommodation if you want to chill for a night or two and soak up the best of central Queensland.
Watch this space for more information on things to see, do and all things Bonza in the Rockhampton region!
